i agree on both counts
having to map from ur guild hall 2 senjis/desert and back again is really annoying and frusrating, but i belive that u should only be allowed to do it when you are ascended and done the required path missions or in factions if u are wei no su.
i think though that only pvp charecters shoud be able to change from the hero menu.
rerolling just because your ele/mo not ele/mes is annoying.

/signed for the hero window one.

each secondary would be 'unlocked' when you did either the path quests in prophecies or paid your 500g in senjis (and whatever they do for it in nightfall). it would be character based...

for sense of completion, pvp characters should be able to use it all the time, but their unlocks are account based, ie, if you own all chapters you can switch to all character secondaries, including 'no second profession'.

I don't think having a profession changer in Guild Hall is a good idea. Cuz then the little lvl 2's will be switching all the time.

/notsigned Profession changer in Guild Hall
...

You know that it costs 500g each time to change your secondary profession at Senji's Corner of the 1st time... its expensive.

Plus you need to map there just like the desert area constantly to change.

As for lvl 2's changing their professions that would not be an issue. People have already suggested limits such as lvl 20 only, etc...

At the end of the day its annoying as hell having to map about. A Guild Profession changing would be much better.

So why would making things easier be a bad thing? How come you possible be against it? If it made things easier for everyone PvE and PvP players what's the problem?

/sign both ideas

And when you're organizing a group for an ELite Mission? Then someone says "Oh, it should be better if you came with build XX instead of YY, could you change classes?". Then you go all the to Senji's, change the profession, go to the GH of an ally and wait somebody come to ferry you there. That's pretty annoying.

And i won't say anything about rerolling PvP character just to change your secondary since that takes a whole Era. I just can't get the same appearence everytime and... well... i tend to take sometime chosing them. =D

Correct. Because while it takes so little time to reroll a PvP character, it be a whole lot easier if we could just change it ingame without having to do that.

Updated original post with signatures and slightly revised the post.
The following lines of text has been added:

=======================

Proposed new features:
1. Profession Changer in Guild Hall
- PvP-only characters can change freely
- PvE characters can only change if they unlocked it

2. Change Profession through Hero Window [H]
- PvP-only characters can change freely
- PvE characters can only change if they unlocked it, plus
- They completed various special profession quests in each chapter

=======================

Jin Of Stealth,

"I don't think having a profession changer in Guild Hall is a good idea. Cuz then the little lvl 2's will be switching all the time."

As stated by the others, this will not be an issue, obviously level 2s PvE characters who have not "unlocked" their secondary professions will be unable to use the services offered by the Guild Hall's Profession Changer.

=======================

Trylo,

having a proffesion NPC in the guild hall would allow a factions only person to go to the guild hall and switch to a Nightfall only secondary without paying the $50.

The "factions only person" can only switch to a Nightfall only Secondary Profession if the "factions only person" has first unlocked the Nightfall only Secondary Professions in the Nightfall PvE campaign.

=======================

majoho,

"totally not needed, people are just too damn lazy

I mean it takes 2 mins to change professions in factions, with mapping."

As more ANET rolls out more chapters in the future, and the total number of Professions increases, this feature will become a neccessity.

Time is previous, being more time efficient does not equal to being lazy.

I'd prefer it in the Hero Window, but either would be an improvement.
